Gerald Ford And Donald Trump: President By the Numbers

Here at we sense the same sauce used by President Ford as we heard today in the speech by Mr. Trump in his “National Security” dialogue. It had the same remedial approach to international conflict that was used with the Cambodians concerning the capture of the Mayaguez. President Ford was often portrayed by many as a football grade sort of man that relied on his staff to tell him what to do. The same sort of simplicity and lack of diplomatic nuance was the spice of both of these Republican Joy Boys, in our opinion.

As I recall, there was a distinct perception of a lack of presidential leadership, the military finally taking action with presidential approval after what seemed like forever.

Comedian Chevy Chase made a name for himself, on Saturday Night Live, imitating President Ford as being clumsy and a slow thinker.
